We celebrate Europe's rich marine life and heritage on European Maritime Day with the open-air exhibition Sea Guardians: Stories of Sturgeons and Fishermen in Burgas!
Where?
Burgas, near the Clock – the exhibition is outdoors, in one of the city's most central and iconic locations. Easily accessible to everyone, it invites passersby to stop, be inspired, and learn more about marine conservation and its inhabitants.
The exhibition highlights the urgent challenges facing Black Sea countries—from protecting sturgeon species to preserving biodiversity. It emphasizes the key role of fishermen as guardians of the sea and presents striking photographs by Hristo Anestev, encouraging visitors to reflect on the connection between the blue economy and marine resources.
Organized by the Protection of biodiversity in Bulgaria Foundation and the For Our Sea Foundation, as part of the #SturNet network, promoting united efforts to protect sturgeon populations and the Black Sea ecosystem.
