From May 27 to 29, the Biodiversity Conservation Foundation of Bulgaria had the pleasure of participating in a “Training of Trainers” session in Burgas, part of the EOL – Environmental Education and Ocean Literacy in the Black Sea Basin project (BSB00432). This project is co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin 2021–2027 program and was hosted by the Green Balkans NGO.
Over three enriching days, the training brought together passionate members and representatives from environmental NGOs, public institutions, and organizations from Greece, Turkey, and Bulgaria. Through a series of engaging workshops, participants explored how to effectively raise environmental awareness among diverse audiences.
The program also featured inspiring field visits to the Atanasovsko Lake wildlife observation point and the traditional fishing village Chengene Skele, which deepened participants’ understanding of local biodiversity and sustainable practices.
The tools and insights gained from this training will help us further promote awareness of our initiatives—such as SturNet, dedicated to the conservation of sturgeons in the Black Sea basin!
